Bangalore, India-based metalcore band Final Surrender have released a new song ‘Smyrna – The City Of Bitterness’ which can be streamed in the soundcloud player below. The track is available for free download on the bands Soundcloud page.
Their latest album “Empty Graves” was released November 5th. 2013 on Indiana-based metal/punk label Rottweiler Records.
Final Surrender started the journey into the world of progressive metalcore with the release of their first full-length album, “The Expanse”. The debut effort subsequently brought them a great deal of local and international acclaim. An EP entitled “St. Sinner” as well as three additional singles have followed since. In February of 2012, the band received a much needed breakthrough as they signed to Rottweiler Records. Ex-Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray, who also plays for Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced and We Are The Fallen produced what will likely become the band’s breakthrough album. Final Surrender will also be undertaking their first international tour in the United States as part of the album’s promotion.
In December 2013 we conducted an interview with Final Surrender, about the album they said the following:
Sanjay Kumar: The recording process for this album has involved some of the best musicians from all over the country. You should expect very very fresh music in this CD. The songs have a perfect blend of progressive metal and traditonal Indian music which the world has not heard before. We had the awesome Paul Stier to do the artwork for our CD.
James Stephanus: Was a nice experience working on this album. The songwriting took us about 3-4 weeks. The guitars, drums and vocals were recorded in about 2 weeks. However, it took us over 18 months of relentless efforts by many people to complete the album with the current sound. It was great to see what Mr. Augustine Sandhy did to our songs when he brought in his expertise in orchestral arrangements-Western and Indian. Of course, Rocky Gray did an awesome job mixing our tracks…

Album review quote:
‘This is the type of album you need to go into with an open mind as your preconceived ideas about genres and song structure may be challenged a bit, but in the end it’s worth the investment. ‘
