underoath_2015_eb9Metalcore act Underøath have announced that they will perform a surprise, 400-cap show at the Crowbar in Ybor City, Florida this Sunday, March 13. Admission will be $10 and based on a first come, first serve basis, as no pre-sale tickets are being sold.

It has been roughly 10 years since the band played a venue the size of the Crowbar. “That’s not an exaggeration,” guitarist Tim McTague told Tampa Bay’s Creative Loafing. “We probably played one of these style clubs in 2007 or 2008 in Europe or Singapore or some small overseas market, but as far as the U.S., the last one I can remember was Alley Cats in Virginia summer of 2004. I think it’s going to [be] a hot mess and really be a celebration of the hardcore scene we grew up with.”

McTague also revealed that they band will perform “choice jams” from both “They’re Only Chasing Safety” and “Define The Great Line.”

“I think it’s going to be an old school sweat fest honestly,” he added. “There’s something about a 400-cap room jammed full, no production, no big barricades. It’s all about the music, and the energy that we all get to share together. It will be sweaty, sloppy, heavy and hopefully beautiful. It very well could be my favorite show of the whole tour.”

“They’re Only Chasing Safety” and “Define The Great Line” were released in 2004 and 2006, respectively, with both albums receiving gold certification. “Define The Great Line” debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard Top 200 chart and led the Florida outfit to a Grammy nomination for their “Writing On The Walls” video.

Underøath will embark on the U.S. “Rebirth Tour” next week. The band will perform the “They’re Only Chasing Safety” and “Define The Great Line” albums in their entirety at the shows, which kick off on March 16 in St. Petersburg, Florida and wrap on April 23 in Atlanta, Georgia. Dates and locations are listed below.
