‘The Shiny Darks’ Drummer & Vocalist Steps Down

Hard rock / punk band The  Shiny Darks from Houston Tx issued the following update:

It is with a sad heart that we must make this announcement. After much prayer and soul-searching, Paul and Gem have decided to leave The Shiny Darks. They have been feeling the need to step down for a while now but could no longer hold off the inevitable. (More below)

This is a very bitter sweet thing. They now have peace in their hearts and minds that they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. They are finishing their degrees and starting up a graphic design/printing business (TheAtomicFactory.com) that’s become quite busy. They designed all of the graphics that we have ever used. If you need some work done, contact them. They’ll do it right!
With that being said, The Shiny Darks will continue on. We are looking for the right people to step in but they will not be considered replacements. Paul and Gem have become like family. They can’t be replaced.
It’s hitting me today pretty hard as we did the last bit of the business of their departure. I’m a bit sad but mostly nostalgic. I have many great memories of many great adventures.

We wanted to go out with a bang. So, our last show will be Saturday, Nov. 5th at “The Shack” in support of a charity, CoreLuv Orphanage in Gonaives Haiti. Please plan to come out and support this good cause!
Look for some updates real soon! And come give Paul and Gem a good send-off!
