The new MxPx album is called Plans Within Plans and below vocalist/bassist Mike Herrera explains where they came up with the album title:
“I struggled with this album title for a long time. I had been recording this album between tours and booking tours, studio sessions, and trying to live somewhat of a normal life. Life got in the way of that. Plans Within Plans was the only way i could describe all themayhem that was going on behind the scenes of putting this collection of brand new songs together. I was and still am literally flying off the rails trying to juggle all the jobs that need doing to keep this ship afloat. I’m the captain going down with the ship.. but just maybe we’ll make to land before we all drown.” Keep your eyes peeled for more news on Plans Within Plans!
Since the release of their third album Life In General in 1996, which launched them to success with hits “Chick Magnet” “Move To Bremerton”, and “Doing Time”, MxPx has been on the road constantly, touring first across the country and then around the world. Touring since the age of 15, they’ve weathered the trials of friendship and the pressure of performing every night. However, the love/hate relationship of their friendship has endured in tight quarters, and the unexpected experience touring the world brings has reaffirmed of the legacy MxPx has built within the last 19 years by fellow bands and fans.
Earlier this month MxPx released a music documentary entitled Both Ends Burning, featuring footage from the band’s 2008 world tour all the way to the band’s sold-out Seattle show in March 2011. The trailer can be seen below.
