Thumper Punk Records has released a massive 15 band, 30 song cd of live punk rock to benefit the Angel City Café in Bellflower, California. For the past 20 years, Angel City Café has been one of those places, one of those clubs that everyone in the area knows and has seen legendary shows at. For Christian bands especially, venues are hard to come by and Angel City has filled that need where Christian artists, whether they are punk, hardcore, ska, rock, rap, acoustic, country, pop or something in between could play shows. Unfortunately, across the country, legendary venues are closing or have closed, from CBGB’s to Cornerstone Festival, the great places are getting harder to find and Thumper Punk Records has taken up the cause to help a venue out by enlisting much of their band roster and having them donate mostly unreleased live tracks. Some are acoustic, some are from radio shows, and some are from live albums but all are in-your-face punk rock.
Not only has Angel City Café been a great venue for 20 years, it has served as an outreach ministry to the homeless and underprivileged and has provided jobs, shelter, and food for the local homeless. Truly being part of the community.
