Metalcore act Texas in July recently announced they have called it a day and will be embarking on a final European tour, the tour which will feature festival appearances at Jera On Air, Graspop, and With Full Force Festival – and select shows with the likes of Chelsea Grin and Walking With Strangers. Dates and locations are listed below.
The Ephrata, PA-based band originally formed in 2007 and signed to Equal Vision Records in 2010. Texas In July is currently comprised of JT Cavey (vocals), Adam Gray (drums), Chris Davis (lead guitar), and Benjamin Witkowski (bass).
‘I’ve had the best times of my life during the last eight years with this band,’ shares drummer Adam Gray. ‘From years of playing for little to no audience – to stages and massive crowds all over the world I thought I would never experience. I’ve met some of the coolest people and am so thankful for all of the friendships I’ve made. It’s time to really dedicate my time to improving at my instrument and getting back to the drawing board. This past September, Texas In July released “Bloodwork” – their fourth and final full-length album – and their first album to showcase their new vocalist, JT Cavey.
On “Bloodwork”, Cavey, a longtime fan of the band with a massive YouTube following, lives up to his reputation for vicious screams, a wide range of vocal tones and a seemingly unlimited amount of enthusiasm, passion, and creativity. The album was recorded in Lancaster, PA with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland; And offers the band’s most impressive work to date, displaying their most cohesive and innovative instrumentations and most dynamic vocal offerings – including a touch of clean vocals for the first time ever for the band.
Texas In July has toured nearly non-stop over the past five years including countless North American and UK/European runs, and ventures to China, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and more. Tour highlights include massive runs with the likes of August Burns Red, Of Mice & Men, We Came As Romans, Silverstein, Unearth, letlive., Miss May I, The Devil Wears Prada, Every Time I Die and many more.
Texas In July has also performed at a wide variety of renowned music festivals around the world, including: New England Metal and Hardcore Fest, Graspop Metal Meeting, Hevy Fest, Summerfest, Vans Warped Tour, Cornerstone Festival and The Bamboozle.
