On May 5, Heavy Metal Artwork conducted an interview with bassist Mike D’Antonio of Massachusetts metallers Killswitch Engage at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, England. You can now watch the chat below.
Killswitch Engage kicked off its summer headline tour in support of “Disarm The Descent” on May 30 at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The region was hit by a devastating tornado on May 20. Therefore, the band has decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the evening’s tickets sales to the Regional Food Bank Of Oklahoma.
Disarm The Descent, the fifth studio album from Massachusetts metallers Killswitch Engage, sold around 48,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on April 2 via Roadrunner Records.
Disarm The Descent is Killswitch Engage‘s first album with original singer Jesse Leach at the vocal helm since 2002’s now-classic, genre-defining Alive or Just Breathing. Leach returned to the band in January 2012 after a decade-long absence. The artwork for the new CD was created by D’Antonio.
Album Review Quote:
“The album is filled with some great riffs and guitar work that definitely inspire movement. Song structure is very similar and seems to be almost formulaic. Songs typically start out with some awesome, fast heavy riffs and screaming vocals then shift into clean choruses with nice harmonies, and finally turn into a breakdown section with more shouting/screaming vocals and the occasional guitar solo.”
