‘My Silent Wake’ Releases ‘The Empty Unknown’ Lyric Video, New Experimental Album Coming Early 2017

MSW_logo_2015British Death/Doom Metal Band My Silent Wake (MSW) just released a lyric video for ‘The Empty Unknown’ taken from the album “Damnatio Memoriae” The album has been released in June 2015 and is produced by Greg Chandler (Esoteric). The video contains pictures of MSW shows, check it out below.

In a new update MSW says: “A new album is to be released in the early part of next year. This will be our most experimental album to date. The songs were created mainly at home with about 30 different instruments at various times with band members and our friends and there is everything from ambient to neo folk to mediaeval to (non metal) industrial to darkwave to minimal to whatever you want to call it. Lots of instrumentals and a few vocals.”

My Silent Wake will be doing a mini-tour next month together with German Doom Metal Band A Sickness Unto Death. The tour will go through Germany and The Netherlands, dates and locations are listed below.

My Silent Wake have just celebrated ten years in existence and during the last decade they have released a dark host of enthralling albums and EPs, becoming one of the most respected figures in British doom.

Last year the band recruited keyboard player Simon Bibby, who played in Seventh Angel, the band from whose ashes My Silent Wake were first formed. This is the first time in their history that My Silent Wake have had a dedicated keyboard player in their ranks and Simon’s arrival opens even more doors for the band, particularly in terms of their live performance. With Imperative PR by their side and their line-up complete, My Silent Wake can begin a whole new chapter in the band’s history…and we confidently predict that wonders await..

Although sometimes associated with the ‘Christian Metal’ scene, mostly because of the association of Ian Arkley in Seventh Angel; My Silent Wake are expressedly not a Christian band. Some lyrical themes deal with ideas of faith and loss of faith, but in deeply personal ways, and more universally, rather than obivously …

My Silent Wake latest effort “An Unbroken Threnody: 2005 – 2015” is a remastered compilation of some of the highlights from ten years of My Silent Wake and is released Feb. 8 on cd and digital through Stone Groove Records.
