‘Miseration’ Update On The New Album Posted

Scandinavian death metal band Miseration — the collaboration between Scar Symmetry vocalist Christian Älvestam and Jani Stefanovic [Essence Of Sorrow, Mehida, Divine Fire, The Weakening]— has posted the following update, due to the new upcoming album:

Listening to Jani’s mix-so-far here now and his hard work is really starting to pay off I must say. I think we’ve nailed the bass-sound now (among other things) – a bulldozing, filthy sound, that will tear down walls – and I love it! : )

Vocally, I’m now almost done with the pre-productional work. I will nail the last few lines later today, which means I will start recording thedefinite takes in just a couple of days now! First I need to buy me a crate of Newkie though, in order to get that low-frequency thing going, for real! ; )

As for the additional overdubs, recorded by Marcus and Oscar, they’re all done now, which means we are slowly but surely approaching the finishing line – great success!

More news as it happens!

Earlier this week the band announced the addition of bassist Christian Lundgren to the group’s ranks. The band states, “Lundgren has been a friend of Christian for a long time and they have played together in several bands throughout the years. Next to Miseration, they’re currently both a part of Quest Of Aidance as well.”

Miseration is currently recording its third album for a tentative early summer release via Lifeforce Records.

Miseration‘s Dreamdecipher video can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Markus Rytilahti of Ekman & Winroth.

Dreamdecipher comes off Miseration‘s sophomore album, The Mirroring Shadow, which was released in November 2009 via Lifeforce Records. The follow-up to Your Demons – Their Angels was recorded at Panic Room studios with producer Tomas “Plec” Johansson.

Miseration previously described The Mirroring Shadow as “a step up, intensity- and aggression-wise,” and “more technical than its predecessor.” The band added, “This progression both came and felt very natural to us, once the new material started to take shape. Sound-wise, producer Tomas ‘Plec’ Johansson has really outdone himself on this one, giving the music a productional enviroment to die for! Crushingly pounding, yet crystal clear!”

Miseration‘s debut album, Your Demons, Their Angels, was released in September 2008.

Miseration is:

Christian Älvestam – Vocals
Marcus “Skägget” Bertilsson – Guitar
Jani Stefanovic – Guitar
Oscar Nilsson – Drums
Christian Lundgren – Bass
