InnerWish and Iotunn have been confirmed for the Brainstorm Festival 2025. InnerWish was last seen at the Apeldoorn metal festival in 2010, while Iotunn was there in 2022. Both bands will bring their latest albums to the festival.
For InnerWish, this concerns ‘Ash Of Eternal Flame’, which was released at the end of 2024 by Reigning Phoenix Music. The album ended a long period of silence for the Greeks, who are also celebrating their thirtieth anniversary this year. The years of rest have done the band good: InnerWish is eager and wants to make themselves heard again. Although that is not easy from Greece, a show at the Brainstorm Festival will at least give the band a push in the right direction.
The latter of course also applies to Iotunn, who released one of the most appreciated albums of that year at the end of 2024 with ‘Kinship’ (Metal Blade Records). The Danish band with singer Jón Aldará (Hamferd) behind the microphone, walks the middle ground between progressive death metal and melodic metal. The band seems to have made an international breakthrough thanks to ‘Kinship’, and has been booked for Wacken Open Air, among other things. And therefore also for the Brainstorm Festival.
The organization of the annual festival is very happy with the new bookings. “Both InnerWish and Iotunn released a top album last year. We would have been happy if one of these bands had come to our festival, but now we get InnerWish and Iotunn. So that’s a double celebration.”
The Brainstorm Festival 2025 will be held on November 7 and 8 in Podium Gigant, Apeldoorn. Previously, Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory was booked as headliner. In addition to concerts on the main stage, the event has a theater hall for acoustic performances, interviews and clinics. Furthermore, the festival will be supplemented with an exhibition, a beer tasting and a small record and CD market.
