British-Swiss epic power metal band Gloryhammer (UK) are confirmed to play the seventh edition of Brainstorm Festival.Gloryhammer is founded by keyboard player Christopher Bowes, vocalist of the Scottish metal band Alestorm. Their debut album “Tales from the Kingdom of Fife” is released through Napalm Records in March 2013. After 70,000 Tons Of Metal (US), Graspop (B) etc. it is now the turn of the Brainstorm Festival!
Also announced are, Swedish epic progressive atmospheric doom power metallers Veni Domine. The band was founded in 1987 in Sollentuna, Sweden. Since then they have released 3 demo’s and 7 albums. Their most recent album “Light” has been released last month via Massacre Records.
The third band and last band who is announced is, Despicable Heroes. metalcore from the Netherlands. Their debut album “Shipwrecked” came out in May of last year.
Also confirmed for this year’s festival are: Orphaned Land (IS), Crimson Moonlight (S), The 11th Hour (NL) & Safe Mode (S) . In total 10 bands will be featured mainstage, plus several extra shows will take place in the theater of the festival.
This year the festival will be held on Saturday November 8, as usual in the Gigant, Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. As an experiment, this year the festival is only one day instead of two.
Brainstorm Festival was formed in the beginning of 2008 with a clear mission to enter a new era of music festivals as we know it. Brainstorm Festival is known as an independent cultural rock- and metalfestival, that provides a stage to both new talent as well as metal-dinosaurs. The festival combines hardrock with extreme metal. Besides concerts Brainstorm Festival offers a program in the theater of the club with acoustic performances, interviews, debate and competitions. Also there is an exposition taking place each year, plus a small metal-market.
