Swiss folk metallers Eluveitie have checked in with the following announcement:
“Recently, we’ve been roaming about around our shows, catching some fans wearing our merchandise. So why not make something out of it? We’ve decided to ask you to send in photos of yourself wearing any Eluveitie item either on Facebook or by email to band@eluveitie.ch. We’ll post a selection on our Facebook page (don’t send pics you don’t want to see online!) and amongst all of the contributions we’ll draw winners from time to time, giving out prizes such as signed CDs, drumsticks, guitar picks, etc.
If you’re chosen, you’ll be notified by email or Facebook message!
Most important if you want to win: be creative! It doesn’t matter where you take the picture or what exactly you’re wearing, as long as it grabs our attention!”

2012 marks Eluveitie‘s 10th anniversary. In order to celebrate this properly, the band around founder and main man Chrigel Glanzmann decided to re-record the very first EP, Vên, completely and to re-master the debut album, Spirit, in order to put these two sought-after collector’s items into one 2CD bundle. This magnificent gift to the fans is entitled The Early Years and was released via Nuclear Blast Records on August 17th.
As a foretaste, the band has now uploaded a lyric video for the remastered version of the track, ‘Your Gaulish War’, from Spirit. The video can be seen below:
The band previously published the re-recorded version of the track, ‘Lament’, from Vên, that can be enjoyed below within the framework of an entertaining photo slideshow, including pictures of the band’s early days:
