British Rock/Blues Band ‘Verra Cruz’ Releases “Violent Sun” EP

verra_cruz_2015_37fEnglish Christian rock band trio from St Albans, England Verra Cruz has released a new EP “Violent Sun”, the EP contains 5 songs. Fully funded through the crowdfunding campaign at PledgeMusic. A percentage of the money will go towards supporting an amazing charity called the Dalit Freedom Network who work hard to prevent the human trafficking and modern slavery of Dalits and others from poor and marginalised communities in India.

Verra Cruz, formerly known as Dust. The group formed in 1996, and have since released three studio albums and four extended plays. The band released three extended plays and one studio album as Dust from 1996 until 2001. From 2002 onwards, they released two studio albums and one extended play. Formed by vocalist, guitarist, and lap steel player, Marc James and drummer, Jimmy Cooke, in St Albans, England, during 1996. They would add Nick Bright as their bassist in September 2000, after his departure they filled the position with Josh Jones, while now it is occupied by Henry Cross.

The VC journey began in 2003 with the “Soul Collides” EP. Two albums followed; “Emancipation Day” (2006) and “Innocence” (2008). During that season they played festivals and clubs all over and a couple of band highlights were opening up for Switchfoot on their 2007 European tour and Download Festival in 2008.

Verra Cruz are Marc James (guitar/lapsteel/vocals), Henry Cross (bass) & Jimmy Cooke (drums).
