Oriental folk/progressive metal collective Amaseffer is ready to return with their new full length effort When The Lions Leave Their Den. It will be released later this year (exact date to be announced). This will be their first LP since 2008 debut When The Lions Leave Their Den.
As the direct successor to Exodus – Slaves for Life, this album marks the second chapter of the Exodus trilogy. The journey that began nearly two decades ago continues, expanding into even more sweeping cinematic soundscapes with heavy guitars and deep historical narratives. Crafting a progressive experience that honors the weight of this story while pushing the project’s sound into new, uncharted territory.

The cover for Amaseffer’s new album is a minimalistic visual epic of the Exodus, capturing the heavy paradox of leadership. Created by the amazing Mattias Norén, the artwork was brought to life after I shared the core vision of the story with him: Moses, a hero, the chosen one, bearing the massive weight of a nation’s salvation on his shoulders and yet he felt all alone.
Mattias took the climax point of the story, the parting of the Red Sea, and created this enchanting, silent, yet a thunderous image. Painted entirely with watercolors and achieved in a SINGLE ATTEMPT! There are no copies, no drafts. In just one try, Norén perfectly captured the tension between the redemption of his people and the private, human struggle of the man leading them. The inner doubts and the heavy solitude that come with a divine mission, and the heavy price he will pay in the future.
