Black Rose was formed in 1990 in Fagersta, Sweden. After a couple of member-changes the first year, the line-up was stable for almost ten years. Their debut album Fortune Favours The Brave was released by Bums Records in 1993.
Black Rose played lots of gigs in Sweden and released a couple of mini-cds and demos during the following years. In December 2001 Shark Records got in contact with the band and the self-titled CD was released late March 2002. The follow-up cd, entitled Explode, was released in 2004. Both releases on Shark Records got great reviews. Late 2007 two new [well, Thomas is the original Black Rose guitarist, so he isn’t that new…] members joined: guitarist Thomas Berg and powerhouse-vocalist Peter Thederan.
Black Rose opened for Fate, The Poodles and Pain Of Salvation. Even a gig, backing up the lead guitarist from Europe, Kee Marcello was completed. And of course several headlining-shows. The band started writing new songs and recorded 9 tracks that was presented to Doolittle Group AB. Christian Liljegren [Golden Resurrection, Narnia, AudioVision, Divine Fire etc…], label manager at Doolittle liked what he heard and a new record aswell as management deal with DOT Music was signed.
The brand new cd Turn On The Night will be released in January 2013. Black Rose’s style of music has been constant, even through all different music-trends that has come and gone. The style is Melodic Hard Rock/Metal, often compared to the likes of: Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Pretty Maids, Talisman, Pink Cream 69 and Europe.
