The line-up for the upcoming Brainstorm Festival is complete. Cân Bardd, Illumishade and Leah Rye have been added as the final artists. The result is a varied program featuring a fantastic headliner: the previously announced singer Roy Khan (ex-Kamelot).
A few years ago, Saor performed on our stage. That show made a huge impression, and Cân Bardd is going to achieve the same. In terms of sound, the Swiss band is an extension of Saor. So expect atmospheric passages, calm moments and bursts of energy. It will all be there, and Cân Bardd could very well become the surprise of the festival.
With Illumishade, we are welcoming a side project of two members of Eluveitie to our stage. The band involves singer Fabienne Erni and guitarist Jonas Wolf. With their distinctive band Illumishade, they bring a melancholic, powerful sound, with Fabienne once again excelling as a vocalist. The new single ‘Paralyzed’ certainly sounds promising.
A highlight is the confirmation of Leah Rye, the successful singer-songwriter who can be seen at all the major festivals and venues in the Netherlands. Her dreamy, dark pop songs move between pop noir and electronica. Sources of inspiration include Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, Massive Attack, and Taylor Swift. These promise to be two special concerts in our theater hall.
Roy Khan is this year’s headliner for Brainstorm Festival, which will be held on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 at Podium Gigant in Apeldoorn. The Friday evening will be closed by Sirenia, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary with us. Also confirmed are: Wytch Hazel, Fellowship, Signum Regis, Nephylim, Dark Ages, and NatusSumMori.
In addition to performances on the mainstage, acoustic performances, interviews, and clinics take place in the adjoining theater hall. The festival also features an exhibition, beer tasting sessions and a small metal market. And, of course, there is much more to experience.
