August Burns Red‘s “The Nameless” lyric video has received its online premiere below. The Lancaster, PA-based metalcore veterans have also seen fit to disclose the details for their new 11th studio album, “Season Of Surrender“. Fearless Records have laid out a June 05th release date for that new outing.
“Season Of Surrender” will see guest appearances from a pair of Australian metalcore artists, including members of Make Them Suffer (“Cerebral Malfunction“) and Jamie Hails of Polaris (“Sonic Salvation“.) Opening track “Legions” meanwhile finds The Devil Wears Prada vocalist Mike Hranica guesting.
Vocalist Jake Luhrs commented on the record, which they once again recorded with the production team of Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, “This album is rooted in traditional August Burns Red and I think it’s the heaviest album we’ve written in a long time.”
Bassist Dustin Davidson said of “The Nameless“:
“‘The Nameless‘ is a hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn’t let up for one moment. It combines classic ABR elements with dark moody technical rhythms, and fast paced vocals to keep the intensity up for the full three minutes of the track. To me it showcases our roots of where we’ve come from, and the future path of where we’re heading.”
Luhrs added:
“Lyrically, ‘The Nameless‘ is a song about not wasting your life away for the sake of acceptance and comfortability. Sometimes it takes detaching from what you’ve been told, or from the beliefs you are no longer aligned with, in order to face your own weaknesses. In doing so you can break free to live a life you are proud of.”
