Who’s ready to THRASH???? Please welcome Brotality to the Rottweiler Records pack!
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth; instead, you should be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
You know your mama told you “don’t judge a book by its cover,” right? That definitely applies to Brotality. Even though none of them is old enough to vote, the guys in Brotality – brothers Bryce Maopolski (17, guitar and vocals) and Reece Maopolski (16, bass and vocals), along with Liam Fenton (14, drums) – have created a band that unapologetically takes its sonic cues straight from the founding fathers of metal. With tight songwriting, muscular vocals, and crushing riffs in abundance, Brotality have created a dynamic force worthy of carrying forward the Heavy Metal moniker. They cite Mastodon, Megadeth, and Alice Cooper as influences, and it won’t take long for anyone who listens to their music to be smacked in the face with an undeniable old-school sensibility.
The Maopolski brothers originally started Brotality in 2016, but the band really took off when they first collaborated with Liam in the studio early in 2018. In the two short years since that fateful studio session, Brotality have released two EP’s and four singles and have garnered 1,800 followers on Facebook. Their journey has given them opportunities to play at such well-known venues as The Bitter End NYC, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (where they opened for Deep Purple and Judas Priest), Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia, Montage Mountain and Stage West in Scranton, PA (where they won 570 Music Show’s Best Metal Band award for 2019). A lively 2020 schedule sees the band planning to play at Creation Festival Northeast, Capstone Music Fest, and the iMatter Festival.
The members’ Christian faith is central to Brotality‘s identity as a band. They are passionate about using metal to share their faith and spread a positive message while embracing the brutality of living counter-culturally in today’s world. Regardless of whether they fit the visual stereotype, Brotality remain committed to carrying the metal torch, and igniting hope through their faith-centered brand of Heavy Metal.
