The Ongoing Concept recently announced an October 06th release date for their new album, “Places“, via Solid State Records. Pre-orders for the effort are available now at this location. Those who do pre-order will get the band’s new track ‘The Print’. The new song can be streamed below.
The Ongoing Concept is an American pop rock band from Spokane, WA. Breaking the barriers of genre thumping critics, these guys mesh heavy rock, pop hooks, and extreme riffing that creates a blue-collar like sound that matches no other. The Ongoing Concept takes influence from the likes of Don Broco, The Chariot, and Enter Shikari; holding a more cultured background in having a worldly taste.
The band released their first independent EP in 2010 entitled “What Is My Destiny.” In 2011 they released their second EP entitled “Arrows Before Bullets.”|
The band released their debut studio album “Saloon” on August 20, 2013, with Solid State Records. For the Billboard charting week of September 7, 2013, “Saloon” charted at No. 38 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. “Handmade” their latest album has been released on June 16, 2015
On the genesis of their sound Dawson divulged ‘we’re just not afraid to look weird. That’s really it, some bands may say we play heavy music and that’s supposed to be guitar, bass and drums. I look around our music space and see a trombone, a piano, a harmonica and I think, I wonder what we could do with that?’
The sense of rambunctiousness and passion extends to The Ongoing Concept’s live shows. Touring steadily over the last few years, the band has hit the country and Europe with such artists as Hawthorne Heights, War Of Ages, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Dayseeker and Brent Walsh (of I The Mighty).
The band consists of Dawson Scholz – vocals, guitars, Andy Crateau – guitar, Ian Nelson – bass guitar, Cody Rhodes – drums.
