Ted Kirkpatrick is known best as the only original band member left / co-founder and drummer of [thrash] metal band Tourniquet. Ted has released a brand new solo album [his third], this time a Christmas album Ancient Christmas an 8 Christmas classics plus one newly written original Christmas song.
Ted commented: “I grew up listening to Christmas music the entire month of every December. I’m excited to share my versions of some of my favorite Christmas songs, plus an original song written specifically for this album”.
Check out the tracklist and video below to The Night Innocent Beheld Innocence And now we have to wait till the new Tourniquet album will be released. The latest Tourniquet album is Where Moth and Rust Destroy [2003].
Ted: I’m going to post my thoughts track by track. Track 1: Jingle Bells – is supposed to be a fun song, so I decided to go with a Calypso/Carribean theme with steel drum sounds playing the bass, melody and harmonies. The first few bars is the melody from the end of a song I wrote for our Collected Works album called The Hand Trembler – just to catch people off guard. I always loved Latin drum beats, and I play a few variations here. So, picture yourself on a beach in Trinidad, the birthplace of steel drums, and check it out… and oh yeah – I hope you buy the album!
