SlashFrance.net and AlterBridge-France.fr conducted an interview with Myles Kennedy [Alter Bridge, Slash] before Alter Bridge‘s November 4 concert at Le Zénith in Paris, France. The 19-minute clip, which includes performance footage, can be seen below.

When asked if the forthcoming second solo album from legendary guitarist Slash [Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver]— which will feature lead vocals and songwriting contributions from Myles — will be heavier than last year’s self-titled effort, Kennedy said, “A lot of it depends on which songs make the cut. There’s 17 tracks [in the works] right now, so depending on which end up being the final ones. But there are definitely songs with more of an aggressive side — [Slash‘s] signature dark riffs that he’s so great at, there’s tracks with that. Then there’s also tracks that touch on other vibes, stylistically. So it’s definitely a dynamic [album].”

Slash recently completed the first recording session for his upcoming solo album at Barefoot Recording in Hollywood, California with producer Eric Valentine . Joining Slash in the studio were the members of his touring band: Kennedy, rhythm guitarist Bobby Schneck, bassist Todd Kerns, and drummer Brent Fitz.

Regarding the musical direction of his new material and how it compares to last year’s self-titled effort, Slash previously said, “This one’s definitely a very focused… Very hard. Some of it’s very heavy. It’s got sort of a more unified sound to it, especially with one vocal all throughout.”

Alter Bridge has just released a special edition of its latest album, AB III. The special edition includes three additional songs — “Zero”,“Home” and “Never Born To Follow” — making a total of 17 tracks on the album, as well as an extraordinary hour-long DVD documentary called “One By One”.

One By One is a documentary by Daniel E. Catullo III intended to be an intimate behind-the-scenes look into the rise of Alter Bridge. Featuring brand new interviews and concert footage shot all over the world, plus special interviews with SlashAlter Bridge‘s management team, and dozens of fans from every corner of the globe, viewers will learn about the sacrifices made by the band to get where they are today and why they continue to do what they do so passionately.

On November 29 the band filmed their London show for a live DVD, which will be released in 2012. Alter Bridge has been on the road since last year in support of its third album, AB III.
