Nordic Fest are proud to announce 2 Latin American bands for this year’s festival! Hortor from Mexico will play an exclusive black metal show in Norway full of energy and blasting beats! And longtime grinders Antidemon from Brasil will return to Norway once again. This awesome trio will grind your ears to dust, and melt every metalheart to soft candy. The band leader “Batista” will also preach during the festival.
So, don’t miss Nordicfest in Oslo, Norway from 1-2nd of November. Other bands playing are: War of Ages (USA), Drottnar (NOR), Opus Irae (GER), The Weakening (SWE) and Sawol (FIN). 7 bands from 7 different countries!
We hope to have the last band announced within short time.
The Mexicans in Hortor are finally playing in Norway, and with them they are bringing a lo-fi and melodic sound that resembles the early second-wave black metal albums. While it may not be a popular concept within the black metal community, Hortor has never lost the vision with which they began in 2004. The message of Hortor has always been completely direct, never hiding their faith and portrayed in each of their concerts and lyrics their beliefs. We welcome them to Norway and Nordic Fest 2019, and hope to be blasted away by Hortor‘s brutal sound and relentless message.

Antidemon has been going strong since ’94 and is a well-known band in the Brazilian scene. The band’s style has developed along the years, and their mixture of death metal and grindcore is sure to deliver the hardness you desire. The sound is fast and brutal, and we welcome them to Norway – make sure to be ready for hard-hitting riffs and low-tuned growls at Nordic Fest!

Once upon a time in 2018 Nordic Markus and Pål sat in the car to Elements of Rock, reminiscing the 2017 edition of Nordic Fest. The delight of getting your face melded, bones pounded and beaten by the delightful tunes of holy wrath, righteous anger, and glorious praise. Happy days. And least, but not last considering the festivals outstanding surplus on $5, we decided that it was time to gather the family again. You are invited, and we look forward to seeing you all – even if we don´t know you from before!
Nordic Fest is being held at Sub Scene, a venue located in the very heart of Oslo. It is located at Rosenkrantz’ gate 17, 700 meters from its former location. Being a venue that does not serve alcohol, and therefore having no age-limit, it also appeals to the younger crowd with a passion for music. Sub Scene has its own bar/cafe (Sub Cafe) with a great selection of various beverages and snacks. Parking places are limited around Sub Scene so expect a little bit of walking. It may be smart to bring some warm clothes, as the median temperature for Oslo in that period is between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius (32 to 41 Fahrenheit).
Nordic Mission will be selling vinyls, CDs, DVDs, t-shirts and hoodies at the venue. This is your chance to get yourself collectors’ items, a masterpiece, the latest news or the albums you have always wanted, without paying for the shipping! Check out nordicmission.net for our selection! We are also, as always, invited to join the service at Sub Church on Sunday 16:00 (4:00 PM).
