Fit For A King recently revealed that they were planning to step away from the traditional album cycle and devote more of their focus to releasing standalone singles and EPs. As vocalist Ryan Kirby put it at the time, “no more album every 2 years, but more new music, and more intentional records.”
Newly arriving under that policy of sorts is the below single, “Keeping Secrets“. That track precedes the band’s forthcoming co-headlining run with The Devil Wears Prada on the second leg of the ‘Metalcore Dropouts Tour‘. Counterparts and AVOID will also appear on that bill. Dates for that run can be found below with the song. As for the inspiration behind the track, Kirby offered:
“‘Keeping Secrets‘ is a song that not only showcases some new elements for the band, it goes back to some of the more popular elements of our older work. The song’s theme of questioning if people can truly love you, if you don’t open up and let them know the real you, is something my adopted daughter has struggled with greatly, and is the inspiration for the song.”
