Declarations chief songwriter Mike Wright is no stranger to the music scene, having played in such notable bands as The Ironside Collective, Fighting Jacks, Freeto Boat, Saint Didacus, and numerous others. However, with this new musical journey, Wright taps into his love of metal and hardcore, unleashing a sound many would compare to bands like Zao, The Agony Scene, Carcass, and At The Gates. He also wanted to get personal and open up lyrically as well.

“Declarations was born out of God changing my heart to speak openly about my faith and challenging me to finally write and record; not only all of the music, but to take on the role of lead vocalist and front man.”

“The songs on this EP are statements on my journey back to God, rejection of the blindness that we currently have towards the spiritual world, and a call out to reject the bondage of generational sin that so many of us are tied to in our lives,” Wright continues.

“With Declarations, I wanted to create what I felt has been missing in my own current musical playlist – Raw-edged hardcore and groove metal with catchy song structures, snarling vocals, and an openly Christian spirit-filled message,” Mike concludes.
