With the confirmation of Temperance (ITA) and Lyrre (PL), the mainstage line-up of Brainstorm Festival is complete. Hamradun (FO) has also been confirmed, but that band will provide a special show in the theater.
Temperance‘s return couldn’t have come at a better time. Two years ago, the Italians made a big impression at Brainstorm Festival. Since then, the band has toured extensively and built up a large fanbase. And a new album will be released just before our festival. Temperance also brings their new singer Kristin Starkey. This promises to be a top-show!
Hamradun has been added to the program in the theater. The band was founded by an ex-member of Hamferd, and comes from the Faroe Islands. Hamradun plays rockmusic, with a touch of doom and some folk-influences. The band does this successfully, and therefor they can be seen playing shows all over Europe
Finally, the Polish band Lyrre has been confirmed. This is the new band of singer and hurdy-gurdy player Michalina Malisz, who we still know from Eluveitie. Earlier this year, the band played at MetalYard in Arnhem, and will return to The Netherlands in November for a show at Brainstorm Festival.
As headliner for this years festival Extol (progressive death-metal) is confirmed. On Friday Xandria (symphonic metal) will headline. Also present are: Serenity (power-metal), In Vain (progressive death-metal), Fellowship (power-metal), Confessions Of A Traitor (metalcore), Leonov (post-rock/metal), Angelic Forces (80’s hardrock) and Neverus (progressive death-metal).
The 16th edition of Brainstorm Festival will take place on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 November in Podium Gigant in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Besides concerts on the mainstage there is a theaterstage for (acoustic) performances and band-interviews. The festival also offers an exposition, beer tasting sessions and a small cd-market.
