UK Christian Thrash band Back Pocket Prophet is preparing to perform their first ever acoustic set on May 18th at this years Meltdown Retreat. After being a regular staple for Meltdown over the last few years it was suggested that they do something a little different; so the amps are being turned down [slightly], the band will all be sat down [probably] and the singing will be in tune [hopefully].
Says singer Dan Random: “We’re having to re-learn songs that we’ve been playing for years in order to capture the new dynamics. It’s been a surprising couple of months for us.”
The band will be playing songs from debut album ‘1:4’ as well as new songs from their future second album. A number of songs were put forward and jammed through before a final set list was finalised, providing a set that should be both familiar and surprising.
The Meltdown Retreat is the longest running residential Christian Rock music event in the UK, catering for hard music of all genres. Taking place at Cefn Lea in Wales for the third time, it guarantees great music and challenging teaching to all that attend.
