Above The Storm releases the video for their single ‘As the Flame’ from their upcoming full length which will be released later this year. The video was produced by Films & Noises and directed by vocalist Justis Earle. The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Cody Fuentes of Rapture Recordings (Lionheart, Spite). The video can be watched below.

The band commented:

“This song is about the ultimate triumph of spirit over flesh and the preservation of freedom of speech and belief for all people regardless of creed, color, or orientation.

‘As The Flame’ was written after several terrorist attacks that left many innocent people dead simply because they believed something different than the attackers. Even in the west the modern political climate shows early signs of dangerous authoritarianism as the current U.S. administration threatens to silence dissent through governmental power, and the misguided politically-correct mob silences opposing views through violence and vandalism.

‘You can’t kill a thought with a gun, much less a spirit with a bullet’

We close the video with a Fredrick Douglas quote, ‘the limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.’ As a slave who freed himself to become a crucial leader in the abolition movement, we honor the spirit of Douglas and call our generation to burn bright with a powerful conviction to protect the freedoms of all people.”

Their latest effort “Eternal Sun” EP has been released June 2015 through SkyBurnsBlack Records. Our review can be found here.

The band is comprised of: Vocals – Justis Earle, Lead & Rhythm Guitar- Egor Zimin, Lead & Rhythm Guitar – Shane Monde, Bass – **Currently Looking**, Drums – Bernt Gudmestad.
