UK gothic/doom/death metal band premiere new single and music video ‘A Bleak Fateful Night’ taken from “MMV – MMXXV, A Reverse Chronology Of The Past 20 Years”, a two disc collection of 22 songs spanning My Silent Wake’s whole career, due out on August 22nd, 2025 via Ardua Music.

Says the band: Today we unveil a brand new song and video. This is our tribute to Mike Hitchen. The video is by Matt Vickerstaff. The song will be available on our forthcoming compilation.”

Presented as double CD in digipack with 16 pages booklet, “MMV – MMXXV, A Reverse Chronology Of The Past 20 Years”, is a two disc collection of 22 songs spanning My Silent Wake’s whole career.

The compilation includes brand new recordings from this year 2025, all the way back to My Silent Wake first ever recording. There is a brand new interpretation of ‘Hunting Season’ recorded 20 years after the original, a tribute to the late, great Mike Hitchen, some rarities, and some deep cuts on offer. The album works as a companion to the compilation from ten years ago by not repeating the tracks featured on “An Unbroken Threnody”.

Ian would say on ‘A Bleak Fateful Night’: “This brand new track was written shortly after the death of Mike Hitchen, towards the end of last year. The event was a shock and a tragedy. This song is my way of paying tribute to my close friend.”

Scheduled release date is August 22nd.
