Recording sessions have commenced for As I Lay Dying‘s eighth studio album. Those initial sessions took place at Signature Sound Studios with Joseph McQueen behind the boards. Thus far, drums for the effort have been laid down with Nick Pierce (ex-Unearth) having been behind the kit. Some footage from those sessions can be found in the below gallery.

Pierce isn’t the only relatively new face with the band expected to be featured on this new effort. Former Unearth guitarist Ken Susi and Miss May I bassist/vocalist Ryan Neff are also expected to be taking part, marking their first full-length with the San Diego, CA metalcore outfit.

Earlier today (Monday, April 10), As I Lay Dying shared a photo and a short video from the studio and included the following message: “Drums have been tracked for the new album”.

Thus far release plans for the opus have yet to be shared.
