Ted KirkpatrickTourniquet co-founder and drummer Ted Kirkpatrick (picture) has checked in with the following update regarding the new album:

STRETCH GOALS ADDED!! We’re thrilled and grateful that because of all of you – we’ve reached our initial goal. With a few days left, we want to make the most of the valuable remaining time. Please check out the “stretch goals”

Tourniquet has now reached over $17,416 (from more than 450 backers) for their new album. Originally seeking only $16,000, the project managed to raise its initial goal quickly. The new album will be released next year.

Drummer and co-founder Ted Kirkpatrick says; “We did it! Thank you all and special thanks to Daniele from Italy who pledged for a pair of my beat up drumsticks used in the recording. You put us over!!! Still 8 days left to get involved!”

In December we reported that, by mutual and respectful agreement, Luke Easter has stepped down as vocalist of thrash/heavy metal band Tourniquet. The band is still looking for a new singer. In a previous update (April) the band said:

“The Tourniquet lead vocalist position is open for auditions. Although we have a few excellent singers in mind, we first would like to see who might be out there. It’s interesting that several very well known bands have done the same – most recently Stone Temple Pilots.”

“We’re open to either a vocalist or a vocalist/guitarist (think Michael Sweet, Dave Mustaine, etc.). Also, the ability to sing and do some thrash vocals is a big plus, but not required.”

“To audition, choose and download from two to four tracks to sing over instrumental “voiceless” versions – at least one each from Antiseptic Bloodbath and Onward to Freedom. Then upload your video audition to YouTube on the “unlisted” setting. Email the link to and we’ll check it out. If you were in an established band and have footage on YouTube and are interested, send us a link. The next Tourniquet album will be a great showcase for the right vocalist – and we look forward to future live shows – now let’s hear what you got! – Ted”

Tourniquet‘s latest album “Onward to Freedom” (an anthem for the voiceless) was mixed and mastered by ace producer Josh Schroeder /Random Awesome Studios and is released on November 11th. 2014 through Tourniquet‘s own label Pathogenic Records.

The current line-up includes: Ted Kirkpatrick (co founder and original drummer) and Aaron Guerra (guitar).
