Finnish winter metal band Immortals Souls will play an special and exclusive show next month at the seventh edition of Brainstorm Festival, with new work and an extra clean singer. ‘Calm Before The Snowstorm’ was released in May and is the first song from their upcoming album, which will be released somewhere this year. This year the festival is only one day instead of two. Brainstorm Festival will be held on November 8th. as usual in the Gigant, Apeldoorn.Netherlands.
The complete line-up is as follows: Orphaned Land (IS), War of Ages (USA), Immortal Souls (FIN), Gloryhammer [UK], Crimson Moonlight (S), Akelei (NL) & Safemode (S), La Ventura (NL), Premnath (NL), Pene Corrida (NL) and Despicable Heroes [NL]. Immortal Souls formed in 1991. They released a split album and their debut on Little Rose Productions in late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2002 Immortal Souls signed with Dutch label Fear Dark which released their second and third album as well as a compilation. Their musical style is characterized by their use of melodic guitar riffs and singing which shifts between growls and shouting. Their music has been called winter metal since Immortal Souls utilizes frosty metaphors in their lyrics and usually creates a cold, wintry atmosphere. Their most recent album “IV: The Requiem For The Art of Death” has been released October 7th. 2011 [Europe] via Dark Balance and October 11th. 2011 [US] via Facedown Records. “IV:The Requiem for the Art of Death” is their first release since 2007′s Wintereich.
