Lyrics: Consuming
(Philippians 4: 11-13)
Contentment is essentially a matter of accepting from God’s hand what he sends because we know that He is good and therefore it is good. – J. I. Packer
This leaves me feeling unsatisfied
I’m feeling unsatisfied
‘Cause I’m consuming for the sake of
Consuming for the sake of
So often, I don’t take the time
I never seem to get it right
Instead of savoring
Each morsel
I cram it all into
My mouth at once
Feeling unsatisfied
I’m feeling unsatisfied
‘Cause I’m consuming for the sake of
Consuming for the sake of
Consumption
Rather than consuming for
The sake of nourishment
I consume to pay for my lack
Of contentment
This leaves me feeling unsatisfied
I’m feeling unsatisfied
‘Cause I’m consuming for the sake of
Consuming for the sake of
Consumption
Consume, we consume
The spoils of sin
Like sugar, the taste is sweet, yet seductive
This leaves me feeling unsatisfied
I’m feeling unsatisfied
‘Cause I’m consuming for the sake of
Consuming for the sake of
Feeling unsatisfied
I’m done with feeling unsatisfied
I’m done
Consuming for the sake of
Consumption
I’m done
