Slechtvalk‘s crowdfundings campaign has ended. As previously reported Slechtvalk has managed to surpass their € 6000 goal. The campaign was launched on Nov 24 and ended on Jan. 24th. Slechtvalk will enter the LSD-Studio in Lübeck (Germany) next month (March 12th) the album will be recorded, mixed & mastered with Lasse Lammert, with an expected release date of October/November. A new update follows below”
‘Less than 4 weeks left before we enter the studio.’
‘We’re still planning to record 11 songs, although we initially agreed with the producer to record 10, hopefully it’ll not break the schedule to record them all.’
‘but we’re not ready yet:’
– Most lyrics have been (finally) completed or have a draft-version (instead of none at all), but still need some finishing touches, like song-titles…
– Premnath is still working on his keyboard-parts, his health circumstances made it difficult for him to work on them during the last months
– Some clean vocal lines need to be re-arranged/re-thought. Some of the initial ideas prove to be too high pitched (and we’re already tuned in ADGCFA), either they need alot of practise, but we have our doubts if that’ll fix it, so we’d have to rewrite them.
– still working on a few guitar-solo’s. Ohtar is dusting off his Arpeggio-skills, because some solo’s might need some more action than Shamgar’s slower blues/melanchy kind of solo-ing
– based on the demo-recordings Grimbold wants to try out some different drumming-ideas during the coming weeks.
– and a few songs still seem a bit ‘A Forlorn Throne’-ish and could use a bit more depth musically, which the (still missing) keyboards might fix, but perhaps some countermelody or other guitar effects would enhance them.
‘A Forlorn Throne’ sounds (and was meant to sound) like a testosterone-heavy Fist In Your Face. With the new album we want to keep that high testosterone level, but also create an atmosphere that gives you a taste of (and invites you to dive into) the depth of the world and its history/mythology that sprouted from Shamgar’s imagination, inspired by many historical and actual events from life and the world as we know it.
