‘Brick By Brick’ – ‘Connecting Cultures, Creating Community’

Check this: “There has to be a place where these kids, who are lost and broken and hurting, can go to find a home.”

(Matt Greiner, August Burns Red)
We’re not alone. We represent the musicians in many Christian bands who face this challenge every week. We tour to a new city, set up, and then give a show. We love God and want to connect our fans with God, too. We invite people to give their lives to Jesus and we have seen God do amazing things. Fans are born again; they recommit their lives to Christ; they encounter the love of God; new life begins. But…Then we pack up and leave. We can’t tell you how many times we’ve played at a show and had a fan approach us afterward to talk about life and what he or she is dealing with. Often they are broken and aching and don’t know where to turn. We do our best, but we can’t help but think that we are abandoning them when they need us the most.

“It’s a pretty sickening feeling to pray with someone, to see a new life being born, and then have to pack up and leave the next morning. The most we’re able to do is to exchange emails, but that’s about it. There has to be a better way to care for these spiritual newborns.”

(Tim Anderson, Station 153)
