An Honest Message From ‘Phinehas’, “More Than Sound Tour” With ‘War Of Ages’

Phinehas_2013California mustache masters Phinehas has posted the following message, earlier today on their facebook page:

“Hello beautiful metal lovers.

We get a lot of questions about whether or not Phinehas is a “Christian band” and what that actually means to us in our daily lives. We are indeed a Christian band, but this absolutely doesn’t mean that we don’t have flaws or make mistakes.

The truth is that every single person on this planet deals with sin as the result of the fall, us and every other Christian included. Our “reputation” isn’t what’s important to us-we don’t want to just hide our flaws inside and act like we are perfect on the outside because what other people think of us ultimately holds no weight in the eyes of God. The only thing that matters to us is Jesus-we are sinners that need a Savior. None of our identities are in Phinehas, our identities are in Christ, and Jesus must increase while we (and by extension, Phinehas) must decrease.

With this being said, we want to encourage all of you to stand beside your brothers and sisters through the fires and trials of life, to bleed with each other through hardship, and carry each other’s burdens under the banner of love through thick and thin.

You are all loved infinitely and completely no matter what your past contains or what your future might hold.

This means no judgment. Only love. Let’s grow together.

We love you. \MM/”

Above the ashes of a dry and thirsty scene, where towers of pride rise and fall, stands Phinehas [FEHN-ee-uhs]. Formed in 2001 on the outskirts of Los Angeles, Phinehas is a band of Christians with the purpose of being a shining light amidst a dark scene.] They recognize that a message is only perceived as good as the messenger, so music quality holds an equally important role in their ministry. What initially began as a thrashy hardcore band has flourished into a brand of metal that not many can emulate.

Phinehas has never lost momentum. Their intense and passionate live show is a hit everywhere. Largely influenced by the music of bands like As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Van Halen, Phinehas is a band that loves fast beats and guitar solos while never forgetting their roots by weaving in powerful breakdowns.

Phinehas latest album “The Last Word Is Yours To Speak” has been released on July 23th. via Red Cord Records. Our review can be read here.
