Yossi Sassi & The Oriental Rock Orchestra will release a new album “Prediluvian” next month. Sassi has the following to say about the upcoming new album:
prediluvian (plural prediluvians) One who lived before the Flood; an antediluvian.
Here it is, the visualization of our hearts, work, creation and minds. We are very excited to share with you the front cover of the upcoming album – “Prediluvian” (previously code named ‘Chapter 6’), to be released March 13th with 12 new tracks, electric, acoustic & diverse.
In the new album I’ve “drifted back” to my electric guitar, and it is full with loads of guitar riffs, alongside our unique blend of oriental progressive rock! The album will also feature some VERY special guests, to be revealed soon. A special release show will take place in the weeks to follow after the album launch, stay tuned for that!
The album’s title and concept relate to a period in time chronicled between the fall of man and the genesis flood. History just keeps repeating, and while writing and brainstorming, I felt this would be a proper framework to gather various feelings and capture some of the essence of this current period in humanity.
In 2002 I created the successful “Mabool” album and concept along with my brothers in “Orphaned Land”, so it felt only natural to go back – before the flood. Playing and creating with time, and as usual, the clocks keep melting 😊

Yossi Sassi is an Israeli musician and producer. He invented the world-known Bouzoukitara musical instrument, and co-founded the successful metal band “Orphaned Land”.
Yossi Sassi is an Israeli guitarist and producer who merges traditional and contemporary music. He is the inventor of the “bouzoukitara” musical instrument. He is known for pioneering oriental rock, as well as being the main composer, arranger, and co-founder of Orphaned Land, an Israeli progressive metal band formed in 1991. He also formed the Yossi Sassi Band/The Oriental Rock Orchestra. His debut solo album, Melting Clocks, got him voted “Top Newcomer of 2012” by Rock Hard magazine readers His 2016 album Roots and Roads was submitted for Grammy Award consideration.
