Wind Rose are back with another visual to their epic, story-filled and critically acclaimed album “Wintersaga,” releasing the official music video for ‘We Were Warriors’ today via Napalm Records! ‘We Were Warriors’ is a follow-up to their popular first singles, ‘Diggy Diggy Hole’ and ‘Drunken Dwarves’, which together racked up well over 20 million views on YouTube! In ‘We Were Warriors’, Wind Rose take the viewer on an adventurous hunt for gold through dark ruins and caves, passing old relics from a morbid past.

Wind Rose on ‘We Were Warriors’:
“‘We Were Warriors’ is a song about the Dwarves fallen in battle and their eternal rest inside the great halls of stone. A strong theme needed strong music, so we came up with one of the most astonishing songs we have ever composed: powerful riffs, massive orchestrations and epic choirs. We could not imagine a better epilogue for our latest album Wintersaga.”

Wind Rose have come roaring back with their brand of “Dwarven Metal”  in Wintersaga, the follow up to Stonehymn, and have further pushed their brand of epic metal to the masses.

While the band has been around for now over 10yrs, the Italian natives Wind Rose, have really come into their own with the release of Stonehymn in 2017 and the brilliant move of releasing  a video for their cover of the Minecraft-inspired song “Diggy Diggy Hole”, which last I checked was approaching 9 million plays on YouTube…crazy large numbers for any act, let alone for some Italians signing metal songs of fantasy and looking like Vikings.  To show that the success of “Diggy Diggy Hole” was no fluke,  their video for “Drunken Dwarves is well over 1 million plays as of this review.  The band itself has certainly worked its way up to this point, releasing eps and albums since 2010 and touring Europe with the likes of Wintersun, Epica, Ensiferum, and Eluveitie.  In 2017 for Stonehymn the band had signed to Inner Wound Records, but after that jumped to the well-known metal label Napalm Records for Wintersaga.

“We dug holes, we drank mead, we danced together and we got drunk… Now let’s get to serious business! Let us present you the title track Wintersaga, which is surely one of the highlights of this album: the structure is a little bit more complex than the first two singles, but the epic vocals and orchestra still keep it easily approachable for all kinds of ears.bWe also wanted to give this song a special look, so we decided to create a lyric video to represent its meaning: the arrival of Durin’s Day, that closes the fall and opens the gates of winter.”
