Handmade_TOCThe Ongoing Concept have released the music video for ‘Melody’ which is taken is from the Rathdrum, ID quartet’s 2015 album “Handmade,” which features instruments that were hand made by the band and used to record the album! The video can be watched below.

This summer, The Ongoing Concept will hit the road with Oh, Sleeper. Dates will be announced soon!

“Handmade” is more than a moniker and brings the term “DIY” to a whole new level. In addition to recording the album entirely in their house, making their own videos and album artwork, the band went as far as to build their own instruments for this album. Continue reading »

TOC June 2014Here’s a third song ‘Soul’ from The Ongoing Concept’s upcoming album “Handmade” which comes out June 16th.

Keeping with the “Handmade” theme, the ‘Unwanted’ video was directed by Dawson Scholz (guitarist/vocalist) and filmed by the band members. As reported previously, much has been made of the band’s decision to do everything for this album by hand. That includes building their own instruments.

TOC June 2014The Ongoing Concept have released a video for their new song ‘Unwanted’ which is the first taste of their forthcoming album “Handmade” which comes out June 16th. In The Ongoing Concept‘s own frenetic fashion, song/video is ripping and disorienting, yet immediately memorable. The video can be seen below.

the ongoing conceptIdaho’s The Ongoing Concept recently released a video announcing their new album “Handmade”. The video can be watched below.

As evidenced in the time-lapsed video, the forthcoming album’s title “Handmade” is more than a moniker and brings the term “DIY” to a whole new level. In addition to recording the album entirely in their house, making their own videos and album artwork, the band went as far as to build their own instruments for this album.

Dawson Scholz (guitarist/vocalist) espouses on the idea, ‘well, I don’t want to give the idea that we were dirt-poor growing up but we always were inclined to build the redneck versions of things we needed. I built our guitar cabs years ago and people always comment on them. So not too long ago, we were sitting around and just had the idea to really build our new album from the ground up including our instruments.’ Continue reading »

The Ongoin Concept (nov. 2014)The Ongoing Concept have released the following music video for their song ‘Like Autumn’, taken from their debut album “Saloon”

The Ongoing Concept is made up of three brothers and their childhood friend; that started in 2010. Decorated with piano and organ, the track’s driving rock guitars give way to heavy angular riffs, providing further proof of the band’s diverse sonic portfolio, previously demonstrated with the banjo-twang of the track ‘Cover Girl’ and the explosive ferocity of ‘Class of Twenty-Ten.’ Continue reading »
