Sweet & Lynch, the musical union of vocalist/guitarist Michael Sweet (Stryper, Iconic) and guitarist George Lynch (Lynch Mob, The End Machine, ex-Dokken), have announced the long-awaited release of their third album, “Heart & Sacrifice,” on May 19.

The combination of Sweet’s powerful, high-octane vocals and Lynch’s immediately recognizable guitar heroics once again prove to be an unbeatable combination sure to please the hard rock faithful.

The first single from the album, ‘You’ll Never Be Alone’, is out now. Watch a lyric video below.

Sweet & Lynch – “Unified”

Two years after their debut album, 80’s metal icons George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob) and Michael Sweet (Stryper) are back together as Sweet & Lynch and releasing Unified, the follow up to Only to Rise.

Sweet & Lynch released their debut album Only to Rise in 2015 to a good response from critics.  As if a band with Michael Sweet and George Lynch isn’t enough their band also includes past members from bands like Whitesnake, White Lion,  and Megadeth.  James Lomenzo on bass has been with the likes of Megadeth, White Lion, and Black Label Society, and Brian Tichy on drums lists Whitesnake on his resume.

Just like they did on Only to Rise, Sweet & Lynch open up the album with a track that has everything one would expect from the band.  A lone guitar starts things out with a fast riff, to be joined by the rest of the band and a trademark high scream from Michael Sweet.  Pounding drums, a blistering solo, great harmonies in the backing vocals, and some more trademark screams from Michael Sweet fill out the rest of the song.  Production is great, as expected and overall the album has a bit more or a raw feeling to it than Only to Rise, but still is exceptionally clean and very well mixed, highlighting Sweet’s voice and George’s guitar. ‘Walk’, the new video from Sweet & Lynch — the band featuring guitarist/vocalist Michael Sweet of legendary hard rockers Stryper, legendary guitarist George Lynch (T&N, Dokken, Lynch Mob), bassist James Lomenzo (Megadeth, White Lion, Black Label Society) and drummer Brian Tichy (S.U.N., Whitesnake)  — The song is taken from their sophomore album, “Unified”, which will be released on November 10 via Frontiers Music. The video can be seen below.

Sweet recently told That Drummer Guy about “Unified”: “This album, to me, sounds a little bit more focused. It’s a little bit more raw and in your face. The first album was a little more slick, had a little bit more production and effects and things going on and more tracks, too. This album doesn’t have as many tracks. It’s a little bit more scaled-down and bare bones, but I think it works. I really do. We experimented a little bit more. Like the song ‘Walk’, George sent me that. I went ‘Wow, this is cool. I don’t know what to do with it, but it’s really cool.’ It sounds like if you merged Aerosmith and Queen, Stryper and Dokken together, you’re going to get ‘Walk’.
