Silent Skies, the cinematic ambient project of Evergrey’s Tom S. Englund and classically trained pianist and composer Vikram Shankar (Redemption), have finally unveiled their second studio album and label debut, “Nectar,” via Napalm Records.

This spectacular full-length soaked in a melancholic atmosphere showcases the touching intensity of Silent Skies’ musical expression without holding anything back. Infinite, heartfelt Nectar enchants with sounds like pure poetry lifting off the page and wrapping around its listener with a gentle glow as it combines the reminiscence of the likes of producers and composers such as Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm and Ludovico Einaudi, and bands ranging from Sigur Rós to Anathema. The balance between haunting instrumentals and vocal intensity that complement each other in perfect harmony walks a delicate line where listeners are treated to the best of both worlds.

To accompany the release of Nectar, Silent Skies‘ emotive third single ‘Let It Hurt’ has been released together with an intense official music video. ‘Let It Hurt’ addicts with an intimate intro possible due to Tom S. Englund‘s heartbreaking vibrato, quickly developing dramatically and wrapping the listener in a multitude of evocative sounds, blending cinematic strings and piano with hooky modern vocals.

Napalm Records is pleased to announce that Swedish/American duo Silent Skies – featuring Evergrey vocalist Tom S. Englund and pianist/multiinstrumentalist Vikram Shankar – have signed an official worldwide contract with the premier Austrian label.

The differing musical backgrounds and previous experiences of the musicians have formed a creative space of development for Silent Skies. taking the listener on a touching, melancholic journey and convincing with captivating talent. They are currently working on a successor to their stunning 2020 debut full-length.

Tom Englund (Evergrey) and Vikram Shankar (Redemption) join forces as Silent Skies to release their debut record “Satellites”, which is characterized by an emotionally driven piano, which explores into soundtrack dimensions. Desolate, gloomy, but also hopeful, the compositions pave their way on “Satellites”, which are characterized by self-reflection and inner contemplation. With its almost hypnotic effect, this mélange creates images in the listener’s inner eye.

After launching this exciting new project a while ago with the first singles ‘Horizons’ and later ‘Solitude’ (including a beautiful music video directed by Patric Ullaeus), Silent Skies finally unveil detailed information on their highly anticipated debut record: titled, “Satellites,” the atmospheric 10-track album will be released on December 11th. via AFM Records.
