The line-up for the Brainstorm Festival 2021 is complete. (The news was announced earlier this year, but for reasons unknown, it wasn’t mentioned here). As final bands Hamferd (FO) and Scarlet Stories (NL) have been added to the already impressive line-up. As is well known, Orden Ogan (DE) is headlining, and we have also secured the likes of Narnia (SE), Leaves’ Eyes (FIN/DE), Majestica (SE) and Temperance (ITA).

The organisation states: We are particularly proud of the addition of Hamferd. Not before a band from the Faroe Islands played at the Brainstorm Festival. And Hamferd has been on our wish list for years. Now it is really going to happen. Heavy metal, with deep grunts and plaintive vocals, that is what Hamferd has to offer.

No less proud are we of Scarlet Stories, the Dutch progressive rock/metal band that is causing a furore in our country. The band was supposed to play at our 2020 edition, which had to be cancelled at the last minute due to corona measures. We are therefore very happy that Scarlet Stories will be playing after all.

The total line-up for the 14th edition of the Brainstorm Festival is now as follows:

We regret to announce that the Covid-19 edition of the Brainstorm Festival will be canceled. The special show with Eric Clayton and The Nine and Scarlet Stories would take place next Friday at Podium Gigant. The cabinet has just announced that all stages must close, which also puts an end to our show. Anyone who has bought a ticket will receive a personal message tomorrow.

Of course we very much regret the decision, but we respect this difficult decision by the cabinet. We ourselves have our sights set on 2021. Behind the scenes we are working on an unforgettable edition with a better line-up than all our previous editions, and that work is now continuing at full speed. We hope to meet you all again. Until then: stay healthy, watch each other and stay metal!

The 13th edition of the Brainstorm Festival will go into the books as a special corona edition. Instead of two days of fireworks, this year’s festival should be limited to one evening, with room for only two bands. The amount of public has also been limited: there is room for 42 seated visitors.

Now we can mourn the fact that the annual festival cannot take place in normal form. We prefer to look forward to what promises to be a special and intimate evening. Eric Clayton and The Nine (USA / NL) presents their new album and with Scarlet Stories (NL) we have captured a strongly emerging band from the Low Countries.

UPDATE: WOW, the show SOLD OUT in 36 minutes! Super awesome! Thank you to everyone for their support. And for the people who unfortunately cannot be there this year: in 2021 we hope to put on a real bang edition again! And then hopefully you will all be there again!

Gigant and Stichting Brainstorm Festival intensify their collaboration. In addition to the annual Brainstorm Festival in November, from now on concerts will be held under the name ‘Brainstorm Festival presents’. The joining of forces makes Gigant in Apeldoorn even more the place to be for the better metal concerts.

The first result of the deepening of the collaboration can be seen on Saturday 9 May. That evening, Ball Noir (medieval folk metal, NL), Scarlet Stories (dark prog rock, NL) and Askara (gothic prog metal, CH) play in Gigant. Three bands that are firmly committed to the road and that fit well into the concept of the annual Brainstorm Festival.
