Gus G. has released the new video below, in which he and Firewind perform ‘Head Up High’ from the 2008 album, “The Premonition.” The footage was filmed in Thessaloniki, Greece during Firewind’s 20th anniversary tour on October 1, 2022.

In a recent video message Gus G. said: “Firewind is returning next year, and we are working on music. We’re working on new songs. There will be a new album in 2023. We’re writing songs right now. We’re in pre-production mode and songwriting mode. And the new material is killer; it’s coming together really nice. And we start the year off with a massive European and U.K. tour. We’re playing 42 shows all over Europe and U.K. We’re gonna be special guests of Beast In Black. They’re an amazing band. They’re blowing up right now. And they’re taking us out on tour with them… It’s gonna be an amazing show… So, yeah, we start the year off with a massive tour. New music is gonna follow. And we’re gonna get to the rest of the parts of the world within the year.”

It’s almost there again, next weekend the 15th edition of the annual Brainstorm Festival will begin, of course be held at Podium Gigant in Apeldoorn (NL). In addition to concerts on the mainstage, there will be a theater room for unplugged shows and interviews. The festival also offers an exhibition, a beer tasting and a small CD market, for the ultimate festival experience.
Firewind‘s Gus G. is exited to play there, he invites you all to come to the festival. To see Firewind and countless other bands perform on stage. He writes:

‘New Found Power’, the title of their new single and music video, perfectly describes the current spirit of Greek power metal masters, Firewind.
The band’s latest incarnation, since 2019, of course led by former Ozzy Osbourne axeman Gus G. is fronted by singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, ex Sinbreed, ex Seventh Avenue)), a powerhouse vocalist par excellence. Langhans‘ addition to the group’s ranks gave a new kind of energy to Firewind and after the release of the band’s latest (self-titled) album in May 2020, now the new single, ‘New Found Power’, continues the Firewind legacy with a heavy, uplifting power metal track of highest quality.
‘New Found Power’ will also be part of the AFM Records label compilation, 25 Years Metal Addiction, which includes 30 rare or previously unreleased tracks and comes as 2CD digipak (out October 29).
“We recently met in our rehearsal room in Thessaloniki, Greece, to film what we all missed so much: playing together. That’s why the ‘New Found Power’ music video comes without fancy effects or anything: it’s just the four of us playing this cool new song and embracing it”, Gus G. comments. “We really hope to see all our fans on the upcoming 20th anniversary tour.
