‘Megadeth’ Teases January 11th Announcement

Dave Mustaine recently announced he was taking a break from social media for a while to concentrate on Megadeth‘s upcoming 16th album, and now it looks like the thrash metal titans are ready to make a big announcement very shortly.

The band posted a brief teaser clip showing vintage bomber footage for about 15 seconds before a riff from the “Rust in Peace” track ‘Take No Prisoners’ kicks in, along with the caption “January 11th”. Whether it’s a big announcement or a new song remains to be seen, but something’s definitely cooking in the Megadeth kitchen. We’ll find out next friday what it all means. Continue reading »

‘Dave Ellefson’ Says ‘Megadeth’ Have Begun Working on Some New Material

Dave Ellefson says Megadeth have begun working on some new material for the follow up to last year’s Grammy Award winning “Dystopia” album.

“We’re starting to just compile…the process usually goes, we compile riffs, we compile some lyrics, you kind of start putting it together, we start thinking,” he tells SpazioRock. “We’ve been talking on the bus at night about the process and the location and just kind of how we’re gonna do the next album. So a lot of that. So it’s nice that we’re already thinking forward toward that. We’re gonna wrap up the tour in November, and then our intention now is to go in and start working on the record after that.”

The bassist also talked about his extended time away from the group and how he benefited from it, saying it allowed him to grow up and have fun as an adult in the band when he returned. Continue reading »

Danish Metallers ‘Unseen Faith’ Releases New Song ‘Lost World’ from Upcoming Album “Dystopia”

The Aarhus-based death metal / metalcore band Unseen Faith just released ‘Lost World’ the song appears on their debut full-length “Waver” which will be released later this month, through the independent music company Prime Collective. The track is available for streaming below.

Unseen Faith had a smaller breakthrough in the Danish metal scene with their latest release “Yokebreaker” – an effective 6-track EP that got a good amount of attention from Danish/Dutch reviewers.

Unseen Faith delivers dark and brutal deathcore in an atmospheric universe, and they’re now ready with their debut full-length “Waver” – a power demonstration for deathcore enthusiasts worldwide. The compositions on this full length move from neck breaking breakdowns to exalted musical breathing halts, where everything is allowed to stand completely still for a moment, before the earth, once again, shakes beneath our feet. The Aarhus-based death metal / metalcore band Unseen Faith will release their debut full-length “Waver” in late August, through the independent music company Prime Collective. ‘Dystopia’ is released earlier last month (May 19), this is the first single from the upcoming album. The music video for ‘Dystopia’ can be seen below.

Megadeth – “Dystopia”

There comes a time in reviewer’s life when he’s asked to review a band he’s been worshipping all his Heavy metal life, and that moment has come for me. I love and devour Megadeth, and who wouldn’t. There is no denying that Megadeth is an Epic Thrash metal band, be it for their ballistic delivery of rhythm or their wringing guitar solos. “Dystopia” marks the bands 15th thrash metal album which was released under Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft label via Universal on the 22nd of January 2016. Yes, this review is coming in late but nonetheless is an important one for all of us here at the Metal resource, for it won the 59th Grammy Award for the Best Metal performance this year, in 2017.

Everything has been running late with this album. It was earlier scheduled to be released in early 2015, but the bandmembers faced troubled times and in November 2014, guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover decided to part ways with the band only to form in “Act of Defiance” later on. David Ellefson confirmed that the band was looking out for replacements, and later confirmed to have Chris Adler (of the Lamb of God fame) on drums and Kiko Loureiro (of the Angra fame) on guitars. “Dystopia” was produced by Frontman Dave Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw, and has guest appearance of country musician Steve Wariner to play the steel guitar parts of the album.

Dave Mustaine stated that the album’s sound would feature a different musical and stylistic approach and which may be influenced with his guest performance alongside the San Diego Symphony. The band has definitely gone more aggressive compared to its 2013 release Super Collider! Continue reading »
