‘Yossi Sassi Band’ Announces “Roots and Roads” – European Tour 2016

yossi_band_1c5Former Orphaned Land co-founder and guitarist Yossi Sassi and his Yossi Sassi Band have announced their “Roots and Roads” European Tour, kicking off on September 30th in Lisbon. The support comes from the Spanish Oriental Metallers Sechem. Check out the tour dates below.

The tour will focus on the latest effort, the band’s 3rd album “Roots and Roads”, released on May 25th. Its genre can be described as Oriental Prog Metal, combining Yossi’s various musical roots – east and west, acoustic and electric, oriental and metal.

Watch the second single and video ‘Palm Dance’ from the album, featuring Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns’n’Roses) on guitar solos.

The final sound of the album is the reflection of an intricate combination of rock, classical and worldwide oriental instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Bozuouki, Oud, Saz, Charango, Chumbush, Ney, Kanun and much more. Alongside well-renowned local (Israeli) guest musicians, the album includes vocals by Zaher Zorgati (Myrath) and guitar parts by Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses).

The album was recorded in the Jaffa Sound Arts studio in the ancient city port of Jaffa, Israel, during April 2016.

Yossi‘s second solo-album “Desert Butterflies”,  has been released on May 1st. 2014 “Desert Butterflies” is the follow-up to 2012 “Melting Clocks”. The new album was recorded in 4 countries, 3 continents, with over 20 different guitar types, featuring Marty Friedman, Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal [G’n’R], Mariangela Demurtas [Tristania] and many more talented guests!
