Wolves at the Gate 2013Cedarville, OH based post-hardcore band Wolves At The Gate are gearing up to release their highly anticipated sophomore album, “VxV”. The album will be released via Solid State Records on June 10th. With less than a month to go before it debuts, the band has premiered a new song called ‘Relief’ earlier this week. Additionally, beginning today fans can pre-order the record on iTunes and receive an instant download of the tracks ‘Relief’ and ‘Dust To Dust.’ The song can be streamed in the clip below.

“When I wrote this song, I liked how melodic it was and how structurally different it was than a lot of our previous songs,” says guitarist/vocalist Steve Cobucci. “However you hear it today is exactly how we brought it to the studio. There was not anything changed about the song which is somewhat rare to say the least. Generally some little things get tweaked, but it stood on its own. Although while I do enjoy how this song turned out musically/sonically, it was the content of the lyrics that were so meaningful to me. ‘Relief’ is not just about relief for the physical things of life, but far more importantly is the relief that is found in the fact that God offers a freedom from the wages of our sin, which is death and damnation, and that the freedom that Christ purchased on cross is a free gift to all who come!”

Wolves At The Gate‘s unyielding faith helps fuel their explosive performances on “VxV”, which teems with soaring vocals and searing guitars that fans have come to expect. The album was produced and mixed by Will Putney (For Today, Chiodos, Like Moths to Flames) at the Machine Shop in Belleville, NJ. and features 12 bold tracks that showcase incredible talent and strong devotion to God through an onslaught of heavy riffage and pit swirling blast-beats.

“VxV” really came together in an unexpected way” adds Cobucci. “Never had I felt so uncertain about about WATG songs going into the studio, yet never have I been so thankful for the finished product. It’s a strange feeling to know in your heart that the songs are good but so unsure of how they’d come to fruition. I really hope that people can see the thought and time put into each track. Beyond the music I hope that people can continually see the abundant love of God, His sure and rich mercies, and the infinite worth of Jesus Christ.”

The band will take their music to the fans this summer for festival dates and a run with labelmates Artifex Pereo and August Burns Red.
