Tommy Aldridge DrumsVideo footage of drum legend Tommy Aldridge [Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Thin Lizzy] demonstrating the new Yamaha Live Custom drum set on January 25 at this year’s NAMM [National Assocation Of Music Merchants] show in Anaheim, California can be seen below.

The Live Custom series replaces Yamaha‘s Oak Custom series, and it’s the first acoustic drum set to be made at the company’s factory in China. The Live Custom shells are made 1.2mm oak plies and are 10 percent thicker than those used on the Oak Custom drums.

Aldridge officially rejoined Whitesnake last month following the departure of Brian Tichy.

Commented Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale: “When I asked all the bandmembers to put together their wish-list of potential drummers for us, everyone, without exception, had Tommy Aldridge at the top of the list. Also, most of the fans who communicated their suggestions onWhitesnake.com wanted Tommy back in the band. So, without further ado, we are delighted to welcome him back with us. It seems it is our destiny to work together… this is going to be so much fun. Welcome back,Tommy Aldridge!!!”

Added Aldridge: “I can’t express how honored and grateful I am to be back in the Snake fold. Working with David Coverdale & Co. has always been a labor of love. SO stoked to be back and finish what we started!!”
