Ravenword – “Transcendence”

Ravenword bring soaring vocals, metal guitars, and driving rhythms to bear on material inspired by Edgar Allen Poe in their debut album Transcendence, joining other critically acclaimed symphonic power metal bands on Rockshots Records.

Ravenword actually trace their beginnings back to 2007 when it was a project of keyboardist Davide Scuteri.  The idea was to create a symphonic power metal project inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” by combining the poetic style and themes of that age with the music of bands like Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, and Within Temptation.  Fast forward all the way to 2019 and the project is complete as Davide added Chiara Tricarico (vocals), Michele Olmi (drums), and Cesare Ferrari (guitar and bass) for the recording.

Symphonic power metal band Ravenword has just unleashed ‘Blue Roses’, second single off their one-time studio album “Transcendence”, coming out on January 31, 2020 via Rockshots Records.

‘Blue Roses’ is a super-catchy song about a very scary nightmare”, states Chiara Tricarico.

Italy’s symphonic power metal band Ravenword has just unleashed ‘No More’, first single off their one-time studio album “Transcendence”, coming out on January 31 via Rockshots Records.

Chiara Tricarico comments about the song: “No More: this song is a classical power metal track, with a beautiful piano part and a super fast solo.” The track features Davide Lovecchio as special guest on the lead guitar.

Symphonic power metal band Ravenworrd has signed a worldwide deal with Rockshots Records to release their one-time studio album, ‘Transcendence’, on January 31.

Inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe’s novel ‘The Raven‘, the Milan, Italy, based band was originally formed in 2007 by the mind of keyboardist and composer Davide Scuteri (Choirs Of Veritas). After several years of activity, which included a self-titled demo, the band went on a brief hiatus, re-grouping in 2016 when singer Chiara Tricarico (Sound Storm, Moonlight Haze), drummer Michele Olmi (Chronosfear, Skeleeton) and bass/guitar player Cesare Ferrari (Choirs Of Veritas) joined the band, in order to create a one-time studio album that embodies the whole history of the band.

Lion Music is proud to announce the June 15th release for Finnish prog metal act Anthriel‘s second album “Transcendence,” arriving seven years after previous album “The Pathway.” Guitarist Timo Niemistö explains the long wait time:

“To make a long story short, life happened to us with highs and lows. We started to record a new material soon after releasing ‘The Pathway’ but some time after we had to let go of our prolonged rehearsal studio. It was a huge setback for the band as a lot of Anthriel history was written within those walls. As a result of frustration the bands ways departed with Jari and Klaus.

“We were kind of drifting some time to find and build a new environment and fresh start to continue recording of ‘Transcendence.’ Henrikki Markkula is a long time friend of us and was a whole band choice number one as a new drummer. Finding a bass player took a while but gladly Mr.Horttana contacted us and turned out to be a multi-talented studio musician and a great personality as well. Continue reading »
