As previously reported Canadian Symphonic / Celtic Metal artist Leah is currently working on a Wintery-Xmas album. Earlier today she reported the following.

The new Celtic Winter album is very close to being complete. A few finishing touches on final vocals, the guest musicians are 99% finished, and one song has already gone to mixing!

The artwork is in the works as we speak and I’m finalizing the track listing and the album title (I’m 95% sure what it is now).

Things are getting exciting!

As you know I’m 100% an independent artist which means I alone am responsible for the entire project, all the moving pieces, and the huge expenses to create this art. It’s part of what it takes to make music like this. Continue reading »

I thought you might want to hear a snippet of a demo I’m working on for another new album!! You might remember that I’m working on a Wintery-Xmas type of album already… I’ve always wanted to do a theme like that, and why not this year? If all goes well it will be due in November 2019!

I rarely ever post raw demos, but I thought you might like a taste of this one. I posted it on Instagram. Even if you don’t have an account you can still hear it. Just promise me you’ll plug in some earbuds or headphones when you listen, ok?? 🎧

In 2018 my family and I went on a Slow Travel adventure with our five kids! We explored Ireland, England, and Scotland. The Rock of Cashel was definitely a highlight as we drove through on our way to Dingle!

From Wiki: “The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the kings of Munster for several hundred years prior to the Norman invasion. In 1101, the King of Munster, Muirchertach Ua Briain, donated his fortress on the Rock to the Church. The picturesque complex has a character of its own and is one of the most remarkable collections of Celtic art and medieval architecture to be found anywhere in Europe. Few remnants of the early structures survive; the majority of buildings on the current site date from the 12th and 13th centuries.”

It’s an incredible place to visit if you’re ever passing through! Continue reading »

“The Quest” the new album of Canadian Symphonic / Celtic Metal artist Leah is available now, released on Oct. 5th in Europe and North America through Inner Wound Recordings. Leah checked in with the following:

Earlier this year my family and I began an adventure we call Slow Traveling. We sold a bunch of our belongings, put the rest into storage, got rid of our house, our car, and headed to Ireland for 6 weeks! We stayed in one place for a whole month before moving on, so we could really drink in our surroundings. This video features a bunch of clips I filmed on my iPhoneX during an “adventure day” in Dublin – not too shabby! Sorry about any shaky footage, I wasn’t using a stabilizer of any kind. But still fun to see, I think.

Original music in the video is the instrumental version of ‘Edge of Your Sword’ from the new album, “The Quest”. The video can be seen below. Continue reading »

We stayed in one place for a whole month before moving on, so we could really drink in our surroundings. The video below is just a small snippet of what we experienced. I loved downtown Dublin. So much to see an do. I’d always wanted to see the Book of Kells in person at Trinity College! You’re not allowed to film in the room where the real book of Kells is, so, unfortunately, I didn’t get footage of that, but I hope you enjoy the rest of these clips!

Original music in the video is the instrumental version of ‘Edge of Your Sword’ from the new album, “The Quest”. Continue reading »
