Of Mice & Men has released the title track of its upcoming EP, “Timeless”. The effort will be released on February 26 via the band’s new label home, SharpTone Records.

‘Timeless’ is a song about becoming increasingly aware of impermanence, written through somewhat of a somber, yet romantic, lens,” says singer/bassist Aaron Pauley. “At the beginning of the pandemic, I was watching a lot of black and white movies. One of my favorite movies is ‘Casablanca’. I wonder if any original copies exist. You know, although that movie is universally regarded as being timeless, the actual celluloid is so fragile. But I think we find a special kind of vibrance in life when we’re aware of our own impermanence.”

Regarding how the idea for the EP came about, Pauley says: “There’s an old idiom about what you’re supposed to do when life gives you lemons. Sadly, to disappoint, this wasn’t exactly that. We started writing this EP shortly before the initial lockdowns in spring of 2020, before we knew that our world was about to become a radically different place. A lot of these songs were born from a place of wondering how we’d fit into 2020 and beyond, both as adults in our 30s as well as a band that’s a decade into our existence.”

It’s been a few weeks since We Came as Romans teased the release of a new album for the fall, and now the Michigan post-hardcore outfit has revealed the title of their fifth LP. “Cold Like War” will arrive on Oct. 20 through SharpTone Records. The lead single is the title track, and the explosive video for the song can be seen below.

In a word, the album represent adversity – in all of its various forms. Cold Like War is an energetic and immensely catchy compendium of songs that run the full gambit of emotion; aggression to sorrow, love to hate, to capture the fullest extent of the conflict and turmoil the band endured to make it to this point in their careers and their lives.

Cold Like War is about struggle, those trials,” says guitarist and songwriter Joshua Moore in a statement. “They can turn us towards each other, towards those we love, towards those who have supported us. Because the last two years to us have felt like this giant war – an internal war – to figure out the right path for our band…to figure out how to stay together and be happy again.” Continue reading »

Miss May I have released a music video for the self-titled track off their upcoming album“Shadows Inside”, which will be released on June 2nd. through Sharptone Records. The video can be watched below.

“Shadows Inside” was co-produced by Drew Fulk (Motionless In White, Emmure, Crown The Empire) and Nick Sampson (Asking Alexandria, Born Of Osiris). Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, The Word Alive, Neck Deep) handled all mixing duties.

Speaking about the new song and video, lead vocalist Levi Benton says, “not only does this song open up our new record, it also sets the tone for the record. This album is all about changes throughout life, good and bad. It’s about the past that lives within everyone; their Shadows Inside. The lyrics talk about how great new things can give light to your past and put you in a better place. We have quite a few videos and we’re always trying to change things up. With this video for Shadows Inside we not only wanted to recreate the cover of the record in real life, but we also wanted the performance to be abstract. We had black lights and used old lens effects from the 90’s to achieve a very classic look and something totally different for us.” Continue reading »
