No Life Til Metal Records are very excited to bring you our latest signing of straight up in your face heavy metal music hailing from Vienna, Austria ! Veil of Deception (VoD) are a heavy/groove oriented metal combo formed in January 2013. Often compared to bands like Flotsam and Jetsam, 90’s Anthrax, Fates Warning or even Black Sabbath, VoD always stood out because of their distinct sound and lead vocalist Daniel’s classic metal vocal approach.

Having played alongside well-known metal heavyweights like Flotsam and Jetsam, Rage, Nervosa, Blaze Bayley or Visigoth and with two highly-acclaimed full-length albums (“Deception Unveiled” and “Tearing Up The Roots”) under their belts, this 4-piece Austrian outfit decided to join forces with No Life Til Metal Records for the release of their highly anticipated third album, which will be cleverly titled “Dissident Voices”. As usual, it will be as heavy, catchy, groovy and soulful as ever with their brilliant amalgamation of metal styles, moods and vibes. VoD are sure ready for take-off… and we are inviting you to join us as we take off on this exciting journey! Continue reading »

It was 30 years ago in 1987 when Pastor Bob Beeman of Sanctuary International would be led to call together a very special group of musicians that would come together to form a new ministry minded band out of Southern California. With a lot of prayer and faith the players were assembled and the full band would come together to record and distribute their very first demo tape. That tape would be what many people still consider to be the beginning of a movement, one thing was certain it was about to make a lasting impression on the Christian music community.

That band was one of the very first in the genre of Christian thrash, that band was called Vengeance and that tape was their original 5 song self-titled cassette only demo. That tape would lead them to signing a multiple album record contract on Intense Records which ultimately led to the release of their first full length album entitled “Human Sacrifice”.

“Human Sacrifice” was one of the most controversial releases of the time. Many Christian record stores would ban the album from their shelves completely. The album featured the hand of Pastor Bob himself portraying the bloodied hand of Christ nailed to the cross. The music was harsh and in the vein of bands like Dark Angel and Slayer, it definitely took the Christian ‘White’ Metal scene to a whole new level. Continue reading »

Biogenesis are back with their likely long-awaited third album and bring a mature blend of different metal styles together to form their “hybrid metal” which has elements of melodic to thrash to progressive to death metal mixed together.

Fans of Biogenesis have had to manage through many ups and downs over the 16 years since the band’s debut The Mark Bleed Through.  To many, that album was one of the great releases of the day but unfortunately, following band turnover and lack of general progress the band disbanded only to reunite the original lineup in 2009 and eventually release The Rise, The Fall, The Rebirth in 2012.  The band once again disbanded only to reform in 2015 when singer Chaz Bond brought original guitarist James Riggs back and added Sam, Luke, Dan, and Majennica Nealeigh to fill out the rest of the band and record A Decadence Divine.

Being new to Biogenesis, I am immediately struck by the variety of elements incorporated into the various songs, to the point where many seem as if they could be from different albums.  Length of the songs is another aspect where Biogenesis doesn’t scrimp as the album is 11 tracks and nearly 70 minutes in length, so with a couple four minute songs thrown in, one can see the majority are much longer.  To me, much of the album reminds me a lot of Mortification’s 18 minute long Envision Evangelene (in 8 parts), and having a history on Rowe Productions may have played a role in the overall sound as there are bits and pieces scattered throughout the album that remind me of old Mortification, right down to song structure and Chaz Bond’s vocal delivery.  That being said, this is not a Moritification album so don’t expect that but one can pick out the various elements.
